Left our cool hut (thanks Palmerston North DC) with David, who turned up about 7pm. I was long asleep by then. The day was misty as we climbed up a logging road and then entered the Burtton track.

Great Bush track that run up n down following the river. Wet feet today as about 20 river/stream crossings. All good as we needed to clean the mud off. Bindi managed to drop his whole pack in the river while he was getting water. No damage done as bag is water proof and he does have a spare sleeping bag after all.

From lunch Mangahao to Makahika took 6 hours. Got to a clearing at 7pm, drizzling we heated food stored our bags and crawled into bed. It felt so gooood after walking for 11 hours.
Trendiest gators I have ever seen! Keep on walking….😎
