Day 7 – 35km

Woke to rain, I was able to cook porridge, pack everything get rain gear on roll up tent and head out. We all decided we would make it to Puketi Recreational campsite but we would have to pace ourselves, so we all headed out and agreed we would meet on trail somewhere.
What amazing views, masses of Totara trees, then Rimu, Nikau palms, and the finale was massive Kauri near the Kauri sanctuary. Felt humbling walking through such old giants.
Campsite was awesome, facilities clean and new. Long drop, cold shower and rain water! What more does a girl need. Once again hot rehydrated food tasted like heaven, piled on every piece of clothing I carried (including rain gear) and climbed into my sleeping bag. Two more blisters today (only small ones)
